A multiplayer game where the joke does the work of the dark pattern.
Going Ape Sh!t is a browser multiplayer game — play an ape, explore, gather, craft. The bet: gathering can be the game, not the chore between quests, if the world is funny enough. Most multiplayer retention is engineered compulsion — streaks, FOMO, pay-to-skip. I'm betting comedy carries it instead. Still a parked concept with docs and one mockup; it's here to earn its build. If it can't survive founder skepticism, it doesn't deserve six months of Django. Would you play "be a competent ape"?

Going Ape Sh!t is a browser multiplayer game — you play an ape, explore worlds, gather resources, craft items. The design bet, stated plainly: gathering can be the game, not the chore between quests, if the world is funny enough. Most multiplayer retention is engineered compulsion — daily streaks, FOMO timers, pay-to-skip. I'm betting the comedy can carry that load instead. An ape struggling with a crafting recipe is inherently watchable; nobody needs a push notification to come back to something that made them laugh. It's a hypothesis, not a proven loop, and the game is still a parked concept with design docs and one mockup video. That's why it's here and not in a repo: I want the idea to earn its build. If the comedy premise doesn't survive contact with other founders' skepticism, it doesn't deserve six months of Django. Would you play a game whose whole pitch is "be a competent ape"?
