The bet: candidates who apply to fewer roles, with a tailored resume, to verified-only listings, get more offers than any mass-apply tool will ever produce. JobRight raised $14M to be a polished volume tool. Lumi is shipping the opposite.
Mass-apply tools (LinkedIn Easy Apply, Sonara, LoopCV, n8n bots) push interview rates below 0.5% and get users blacklisted by ATS systems inside a week. 70 million applications a month flow through ATS systems that auto-reject ~75% of resumes before a human ever reads them. International students and visa workers — the 1.1M H1B/OPT segment in the US — pay the highest cost: an extra filter at every step, rejected before they know who actually sponsors.
