1,500 photos in, 24 per album out. Curation is the product.
~1,500 art photos, one rule: nothing enters the shop that can't carry a product alone. Forty per album, twenty-four selected; the rest wait. Upload-everything makes a shop like a hard drive — nobody browses one. Every weak image weakens the strong ones. Curation isn't gatekeeping, it's composition; the shop is the edit. Even the first product carries a five-year promise — a free second mug for the first buyer — valid only if the work stays worth buying. What's your selection ratio?

I have roughly 1,500 art photographs and one rule: nothing enters the shop that can't carry a product on its own. The working method is forty photos per album in chronological order, twenty-four selected. The rest wait. Maybe forever. The temptation — upload everything, let the algorithm sort it out — produces a shop that looks like a hard drive. Nobody browses a hard drive. Every weak image next to a strong one makes the strong one look weaker; curation isn't gatekeeping, it's composition. The shop is the edit. There's also a promise built into the first product: the first buyer of the AED mug gets a second, updated-design mug free in five years. Long-game gestures like that only mean something if the work is still worth buying in five years. The edit is how I keep that promise credible. What's your selection ratio — and are you honest about it?
