TRACE is a social network and messenger built around meaningful connections, stories, and the idea of leaving a “trace” that can travel between people and countries. Users can create and continue traces, watch their journey on an interactive world map, send time capsules, receive gifts and rewards, and simply enjoy connecting with others.
Founder of TRACE | Building a social network around meaningful connections
Most social networks today are built around endless scrolling, algorithms, and short-lived content. Meaningful interactions, personal stories, and real connections can easily get lost. I wanted to explore a different approach — something that gives people a reason not only to post, but to create something that can continue beyond a single publication and connect people across places and countries.
TRACE is a social network and messenger built around a simple idea: every person can leave a trace that may continue beyond a single post.
Users can create a Trace with a story, thought, memory or message. Other people can continue that Trace, and every continuation appears on an interactive world map connected by a line to the previous point. This makes it possible to watch how one Trace travels from person to person, city to city and even country to country. A user can continue their own Trace while travelling, allow friends to continue it, or open it to anyone.
TRACE also includes Time Capsules. A user can send someone a message, photo or video and choose the exact date and time when it can be opened. Until that moment, the recipient knows the capsule exists but cannot see its contents.
The platform also includes profiles, a social feed, private messaging, gifts and rewards for early users, and other social features that are still being developed and improved.
This is the first project I have ever built. TRACE is already live, but it is still an MVP, and I am actively improving it based on real user feedback. I would genuinely appreciate honest opinions, criticism and suggestions — especially about what feels interesting, what is confusing and what could make the product better.

How the community currently views this idea
I’m the founder of TRACE, a social network and messenger built around meaningful connections, stories, and the idea of leaving a trace that can travel between people and countries. This is the first project I’ve ever built, and I’m currently focused on improving it, learning from real users, and turning the idea into something people genuinely enjoy using. Because of that, I’d be very grateful for honest feedback, constructive criticism, and any suggestions on what could be improved.
